The focus of this mini-workshop is on rational curves and Abelian varieties. The workshop consists of three lecture series by leading experts in the subjects
* Devesh Maulik, Rational curves on K3 surfaces via GW-theory
* Martin Olsson, Abelian Varieties
* Jason Starr: Rational curves on varieties
The workshop also has accompanying tutorial session led by young researchers.
The mini-workshop is a learning opportunity for graduate students and postdocs in algebraic geometry. It is also a natural extension of the conference Arithmetic Geometry and Moduli Spaces in Algebraic Geometry in the following week. For details of the mini-workshop, see workshop program.
The mini-workshop is aimed at graduate students and post-docs who have already learned the modern language of algebraic geometry and have had some research experience in algebraic geometry. The mini-workshop will support travel, lodging and living expense for a limited numbers of participants. The deadline of the financial support application is June 15, 2009.
