Picture Of Me

About me
My official name is Vorrapan, but most people call me Fai. Fai is a nickname that my parents gave me, and it is pronounced like the greek letter phi. I believe you see now why the name Fai is more popular than the name Vorrapan, especially among mathematicians. I am a fifth year graduate student in mathematics. My advisor is Prof. Kannan Soundararajan.

Research Interest
Analytic number theory, L-functions, Probabilistic number theory, Random matrix theory, Quadratic forms

Publications
1. Explicit Upper Bounds for L-functions on the critical line, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 137 (2009), 4049-4063. pdf, dvi..

2. On the Correlation of shifted values of the Riemann zeta function. pdf, dvi. To appear in the Quarterly Journal of Mathematics. It is also available on arXiv.

3. Bounding |\zeta(1/2 + it)| on the Riemann Hypothesis (joint work with K. Soundararajan). pdf, dvi. To appear in Bulletin of the London Mathematical Society. It is also available on arXiv.

4. Bounding \zeta(s) in the critical strip (joint work with E. Carneiro). To appear in the Journal of Number Theory. It is available on arXiv.

Teaching
In spring 2007, I taught Math 53 (Ordinary differential equation). Here are handouts I made for my sections.

In spring 2008, I taught Math 51 (Linear algebra and multivariable calculus).

In winter 2009, I taught Math 42 (Calculus). Here are the solutions to the students' daily problems.

Currently (Spring 2010), I am teaching Math 51 (Linear algebra and multivariable calculus).
