Milnor K-theory and geometry
In this talk will start with a gentle introduction to Milnor K-theory with some historical background and many examples. After that we define higher Chow groups and sketch Totaro's proof that the n'th Milnor K-theory group of a field F is equal to the higher Chow group of bidegree (n,n) of Spec F. If time permits, I will make some remarks about Suslin's identification of Milnor K-theory as a natural cokernel in homological stability for GL_n of an infinite field F.
