Random Matrices, Random Tilings, and Discrete Orthogonal Polynomials

Abstract:

If all goes well, I hope to connect all the words in the title, through a discussion of the asymptotic analysis of discrete (and continuous) orthogonal polynomials. A central role will be played by some new techniques for the asymptotic analysis of matrix Riemann-Hilbert problems.
