An Adiabatic Theorem of Quantum Mechanics and its Applications

Abstract:

The adiabatic theorem of quantum mechanics describes the behavior of a non-autonomous system driven by means of a slowly altered external field. We will present the basic results and discuss some of the related topics - the theory of (linear) transport in mesoscopic systems and adiabatic invariants in classical mechanics.
